Own labels ALPHAHOUSE and LITTLE HELPERS (together with Someone Else) are steaming ahead for 2012, with new releases from the label boss out now on both imprints.
BUTANE has recently launched the LITTLE HELPERS EDITS, a new series of tracks created from a mixture of Little Helpers singular raw input, built up into a work in its own right. EDITS 1 + 2 are out now, two tracks containing original material from Butane, Ryan Crosson, Mark Henning, Someone Else amongst others.
LITTLE HELPERS MIXED : VOLUME ONE is the first in a seried of mix CDs from the label showing the potential of their output in terms of creative digital DJing. Conceived to provide stripped back DJ tools and dance cuts, Butane takes these and edits, loops, layers and arranges them into something above and beyond its original parts.
Containing tracks from the Little Helpers backcatalogue including artists such as Someone Else, Mark Hennig, Ryan Crosson, Tim Xavier, Santorini, Buck, Andrew Grant, Beaner, Duky, Limo, Kane Roth, Kai Limberger, Mr. Bizz, Standard Fair, Niederflur and Dirty Culture.
BUTANE has also teamed up with KRIS WADSWORTH to present Team America on ALPHAHOUSE, receiving great feedbacks all round ahead of a solo release out this month, also on ALPHAHOUSE, We Long…

It’s no secret that Kris Wadsworth and Butane have both done hard time. In this case, a simple mutual respect lead to the decision that this record must be made. And so here it is. Three tracks of uncompromising raw attitude. Nothing premeditated here. Just honest, warehouse-style jack-mode techno, done by two of the Midwest’s finest.
Some DJs over-sell themselves with contrived media stunts, fancy PR schemes, and little substance. You’ll find none of that here. We’re just a couple of convicts who rip raw techno tracks.

Anticipating an ever-growing catalog of deep grooves and handy DJ tools, Little Helpers label co-founder Butane introduces the first in a series of derivative works from the label’s catalog, designed to fully realize the creative possibilities foretold by the label’s mission statement. In advance of his Little Helpers Mixed: Volume One, a stunning compilation of 43 tracks expertly melded into a single harmonious composition, Butane introduces the Little Helpers “Edits” series. Each EP will showcase a single track, crafted skillfully from material in the label’s catalog. Aimed squarely at DJs, these Edits will be considerably more elaborate than the reduced tools from which they’re assembled. Edit 1 is a jackin’ Chicago-style afterhours workout, built from the outstanding original works of Butane, Ryan Crosson, Duky, Someone Else, Mark Henning, Kai Limberger, and Mr. Bizz.

Conceived of as a label where function precedes form, where tracked-out dance cuts and DJ tools are the music de rigueur, it was only a matter of time before label co-founder Butane put together a mind- expanding mix pulled exclusively from the Little Helpers catalog. Creative DJs take note: this is just a taste of what’s possible when you combine skillful mixing and strict quality-control. No hits. No chart music. Just solid grooves and would-be b-sides, reprogrammed by one of the truly talented DJs in this business. Herein lies proof that complexity can indeed arise from the simplest of forms.
For Volume One of Little Helpers Mixed, Butane breaks down 43 exclusive tracks from the label’s catalog and rebuilds them into an ambitious psychedelic techno trip. If you’re already familiar with the Little Helpers catalog, prepare for something a bit different, as each track is edited, looped, layered, and arranged to become something much more than the sum of its parts. Upon first listen, one hears skillfully placed melodies, patient, effortless transitions, and warm percussive sequences, all crafted meticulously from the sounds of Little Helpers’ many fine artists. Upon successive listens, hidden surprises are discovered lurking just beneath the surface, inviting the listener to interact with and add his or her own contribution to the creative act. Prepare for many special moments as the music increasingly becomes heard as a single, harmonious composition.
